War on the Shore
Welcome to the War on the Shore Kayak Fishing Competition
When : 14 – 15 Oct (First good weather window – Alternate reserved date 4-5 Nov)
The above date will only change should weather not be favourable for a safe enjoyable day for participants. We will then revert to the alternate date.
Where (False Bay, Cape Point or Millers) the weigh in will be at CBSC at Millers.

The Western Cape Kayak Angling Club has been hosting one of the most prestigious kayak angling events in the Western Cape, The War on the Shore, since 2017, but when Covid struck it unfortunately placed a pause on this event due to the nature of it being a social gathering event and larger groups did meet to enjoy the event.
The War on the Shore is a unique event where the angler can compete on his own, but also in a team of 2 and they are only allowed to target 4 species of fish for points (Yellow Tail, Bonito, Snoek and Hottentot). This event is currently scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of September 2023 where the angler must choose which one of the days they want to fish for points. From here the weigh in starts at 14:00 at the Cape Boat and Ski-Boat club and the festivities follow.
We would like to invite you to be part of this event and share in the tradition of growing Kayak-fishing and making the War on the Shore one of the sought after kayak fishing events in South Africa.
We look forward to welcoming back previous participants and to invite new paddlers to join in this exciting opportunity to compete in strategy!
