Bait
For bottoms I use my own modified version of bottom strop. You will need 30cm line, 20cm line, 2/0 Mustad circle hook, 2x small barrel swivels a 1ounce sinker and 2x beads.
For the circle hook you need to use a Snell knot, the rest I use the trusted uni knot. Make sure you look closely at how the line enters and pulls the circle hook closed. I use this on all circle hooks.

The sinker slides on the 20cm line with beads to protect the knots.
This works exceptionally well with a small piece of chokka. You will definitely increase your success rate. Hook size can go one up or down.
