More About the Event:

The competition not only offers a MASSIVE prize pot but also the fact that absolutely anyone can take it. In addition to the prize pot we also partner with sponsors to bring you loads of lucky draw prizes. In 2021 the total prize pool topped a value of R 60 000.

Upon entering you will receive an email with an invite to 2x whatsapp groups.

  1. The News group is a critical group where all updates and official comms will be posted.
  2. The Chat group is an open chat where you are required to post your launch pics and measurement submissions. Please also share all pictures taken during the event in this group.

WHEN: 30 July 2022 – 28 August 2022 ( Entries close 28 July 2022 13:00)

WHERE: The Cape Town coast between Melkbos and Gordons Bay.

ENTRY FEE: 

  • Individual: R 350 (You have to be entered as Individual to enter the Team event)
  • Team Entry (2 members max): R 250 (In addition to the individual entry)

COMPETITION FORMAT: The 2024 edition format is currently under review. Once ready we will update.

LAUNCH SITES: 3 Anchor, OPBC, Simonstown, Millers  or Buffels Bay at Cape Point.

TARGET SPECIES: Katonkel (Bonito/Bonnie)

CASH PRIZES AWARDED FOR: The most points.

1st Individual Prize = (QTY Entries) x R50 = CASH PRIZE

2nd Individual Prize = (QTY Entries) x R30 = CASH PRIZE

3rd Individual Prize = (QTY Entries) x R20 = CASH PRIZE

All Prizes sponsored will be allocated to individual competitors via a lucky draw. Special categories or competitions will be announced during the comp with associated prizes.

MEASUREMENTS:

To ensure consistency on measurements each participant is required to have an Adrenalin Fish Ruler. (No other measurements or rulers accepted)
