January on Fire: Yellowtail Runs & Epic Yellowfin from Cape Town Kayakers 🎣

January has been an eventful month for the Cape Town kayak fishing community. The weather gave us some much-needed windows, and when it did, the Yellowtail came on hard. Kayakers all around Cape Town made the most of the gaps, with some fantastic catches and plenty of tight lines to go around. But what really stole the spotlight this month was something truly special. Two absolute legends of the sport — Guy Balme and August Lohann — surprised everyone by landing Yellowfin Tuna towards the end of the month. Catching Yellowfin inside False Bay is not a common occurrence. When they do show up, the window is usually small, and… Read More

News Report 6 June 24

Unexpected Gap I coincidentally stumbled onto this weekend’s forecast not expecting any gap but rather writing an update about keeping positive in the rainy weather we’ve had. Well looks like mother nature has decided we need to get out there an Saturday and have a bit of fun to recharge for next week. Reports have been positive with loads of fish around at Point, although they were not feeding as well as we would have liked they were definitely around. The guys also showed us that there are some Bonnies popping up late morning at 3 anchor so definitely some good signs. Well guys, if you work hard you will… Read More

Sunday is fun day Looks like this coming Sunday is going to give us a break and get us back on the water. Last weekend the fish were around but made us work hard. Mostly on the outside of point we found birds diving all over. Loads of baitfish so these buggers were dik and not feeding. The guys who put in the miles mostly got rewarded but if you didn’t don’t feel left out it wasn’t easy at all. The biggest concentration of fish were between Bellows and SW reefs with more luck closer to SW. We also got some action behind Anvil. But, new week and new opportunities… Read More

Winter is coming Heloo Kayakfishers, it’s been a quiet couple of month’s with the Cape Town weather and wind keeping most of us “the weekend warriors” at bay. But, this too shall pass and the fishing will explode once more. We’ve already had some exciting reports from Dassen where the smaller shoals have started moving in, good signs for our Seapoint and Robben Island fishing adventures. The Arniston and Struisbaai waters continue to produce some quality fish for those that venture the distance. Well done to Danelle who took the chance and got the reward on this monster tail! The Fusion Has Landed

The Fusion 480 is the latest edition to the Stealth Range. Realizing the need to add a more affordable rotomoulded kayak to the range, Stealth spent over 18 months of research and development in designing this latest beauty. The first step in creating the Fusion 480 kayak was to identify a need in the market.  It also came down to inspired thoughts and a gut-feel for what the market might need, even though the market doesn’t know it yet. The Fusion 480 is truly about durability, maximum stability all without sacrificing speed and performance. The kayak is built using rotomoulded technology with advanced processes to keep the kayak light enough yet still rigid. The focus on this… Read More

2020 Week 24-25 – Blankers a Tail and some Roaches

Week 24 started off with some terrible weather, but luckily for us the weather cleared just in time for the weekend. After some news of a Snoek and some bonnies the the previous weekend the beach was lined with kayakers. Almost looked like a comp was taking place with proper social distancing rules being followed obviously. Unfortunately the whole lot came back empty handed. The next week gave us a public holiday and even Sean dusted off the lockdown from his 575 and joined the guys at 3 anchor. Loads of stories about the one that got away, a mini fish but ultimately we only had one lucky first timer.… Read More
